After 6 months of training and tons of support from friends and family, on July 9th Ali rode about 205 miles in one day from Seattle to Portland!
- 2:30am: woke up
- 4:15am: got to the start line University of Washington
- 4:45am: started the ride
- 8:50pm: crossed the finish line in Portland
We used the event as an opportunity to join a fund raising campaign to Crush Kids’ Cancer. Ali’s friends, family, and co-workers generously donated a total of around $2,600 and the campaign itself raised over $50,000.
Kim flew from Virginia to come spend time with us and offer support as well. She joined us in Portland to watch Ali cross the finish line, and to celebrate and relax with us for a long weekend in Portland.
